Hello! My name is Gordon Ballingrud. Welcome to my website!
I am a Ph.D. candidate in political science at the University of Georgia. I study American politics with an emphasis on federal courts. I also do political theory, specifically Rawls, Dworkin, the concept of freedom, and democratic theory.
My website contains summaries of my current research and publications. You can also find my work at: https://uga.academia.edu/GordonBallingrud And you can find the work I have already published:
“Coalitional Instability and the Three-Fifths Compromise” with Keith Dougherty.
American Journal of Political Science. Forthcoming, 2018.
“Public Reason as Highest Law.”
Law and Philosophy 37, no. 2 (April 2018): 145-70.
On this site, you will also find a blog that contains some of my personal thoughts and opinions on politics. The goal of this blog is to use the methods of political science and theory to assess events, policies, and institutions of the day.
The rest of my website contains summaries of my working papers. Happy searching!
